Google communities is a great way to connect with other teachers. Google communities helps teachers share and create new ideas with other teachers. Finding new ideas for lessons or new information from Google communities can be very helpful to young teachers. My content area is social studies, so I joined Google communities that included social studies. One community that I joined was Waco ISD: 8th Grade Social Studies. This community is a group of teachers who teach 8th Grade Social Studies in Waco. One helpful thing that I got out of this community is different activity ideas to deal with the Bill of Rights. Another idea was a visual over the westward expansion unit. Another group that I joined was called Teaching Resources. Teaching Resources is a community of teachers that share inspiring ideas. One teacher shared a link that is about teaching students how to learn so they can own the future. Another teacher shared the six essentials of project based learning. There are many useful resources that can be found among Google communities. These different resources and ideas will help me in my classroom when I first begin teaching.
